Habitat Cards
Introduced in the Seedling Stage
Game Use: The World of Mighty Trees contains many different habitats.
Each habitat has its own climate and list of preferred trees. During the game,
three (3) habitat cards are placed in the center of the Wilderness. Legions
compete to capture Wilderness habitats. Capture three (3) habitats and you win
the game!
Description: There are 10 different habitat cards, each modeled after a real habitat. The card shows the name, location, and picture of the actual habitat. The card also provides detailed information about the habitat's climate, preferred tree species, as well as a descriptive paragraph.
Real World Applications: These are real photos of real places. You can
read and learn about the many varieties of habitats found in the Southeastern
US. You can even set up trips to find the actual locations where the photos were
taken (each habitat is in a public park).
